Revival Study Devotionals – Extended Reflections

This page houses devotionals and theological reflections developed during our small group study of Revival at Connection Pointe, from the teaching and writing of Lead Pastor John Dickerson. While working through the 40-day devotional material, as well as this year’s Bible Study Fellowship study of Exile and Return, I was prompted to pursue deeper biblical study on themes that surfaced repeatedly—repentance, prayer, evangelism, generational faithfulness, and the nature of sustained spiritual awakening.

These reflections move beyond daily application into careful scriptural exploration—examining passages in context, clarifying theological foundations (especially regarding texts such as 2 Chronicles 7:14), and tracing biblical patterns of renewal across both Testaments.

In alignment with the heart of Equip · Inspire · Encourage, these devotionals aim to:

  • Equip — by strengthening biblical clarity and theological precision around revival and discipleship.
  • Inspire — by highlighting God’s character, His historical faithfulness, and His power to awaken hearts.
  • Encourage — by calling believers to steady, Spirit-dependent obedience that bears long-term gospel fruit.

The goal is not revival as an emotional event, but revival as an integrated lifestyle—marked by humility, repentance, prayer, evangelistic courage, generational investment, and enduring faithfulness.

These writings are both reflective and instructional, designed to deepen conviction, refine understanding, and cultivate a Christ-centered awakening that glorifies God and strengthens His Church for lasting impact.
