The Prayer
Almighty God, You alone are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within Your people.
We come before You as the Church of Jesus Christ—redeemed by His blood, dependent upon Your mercy, and desperate for Your renewing work.
We humble ourselves before You, confessing that we have often loved comfort more than obedience, familiarity more than faithfulness, and self-preservation more than surrender to Your Kingdom purposes.
We acknowledge that renewal and awakening do not originate from human effort, strategy, or intensity, but from Your sovereign grace.
Yet You have commanded Your people to seek You, to repent, to pray, and to walk in holiness. In obedience to that call, we come.
We seek Your face, not merely Your blessing;
We seek Your presence, not merely Your power;
We seek Your will, not merely relief from consequences.
Restore us, O God our Savior. Renew our hearts, that Your people may rejoice in You and faithfully reflect Christ to the world.
We turn from our sinful ways—from spiritual apathy, prayerlessness, worldliness, and silence in the face of lostness.
Cleanse Your Church, refine our motives, and align our lives with the truth of the Gospel we proclaim.
According to Your power at work within us, we ask that You would:
- Forgive our sins through the finished work of Christ
- Purify Your Church from division, deception, and compromise
- Strengthen us for faithful witness, obedience, and endurance
Not for our glory, but for Yours.
Renew Our Hearts, LORD (Yahweh)
Awaken us from spiritual lethargy. Rekindle our love for You above all else. Give us eyes to see people as You see them—harassed and helpless without Christ—and hearts that ache for their salvation. Grant us boldness to speak the Gospel clearly and humility to rely wholly on Your Spirit.
Renew Our Families, Father God (Abba)
Pour out Your Spirit upon households that name the name of Christ. Turn hearts toward faithfulness, repentance, and love. May homes become places of prayer, Scripture, discipleship, and Gospel hospitality—outposts of Your Kingdom in a broken world.
Renew Your Church, Sovereign Lord (Adonai)
Purify and strengthen Your people. Shake us free from complacency and awaken us to the mission You have entrusted to us. Unite us in truth and love. Empower us by the Holy Spirit to bear faithful witness to Christ—whether the season brings fruit, opposition, or suffering.
Make us a people who value faithfulness over success, obedience over recognition, and Christ’s glory over our comfort.
Send Us Into Our Communities, The LORD Who Is Present (Yahweh Shammah)
You have placed us in specific neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and cities—not as possessors of power, but as ambassadors of reconciliation. Open doors for the Gospel. Grant wisdom, courage, and compassion as we proclaim Christ in word and deed.
Let the light of the Gospel shine through Your people in the midst of darkness—not through domination, but through sacrificial love, truth, and hope.
We Pray for Our Nation, The LORD Our Righteousness (Yahweh Tsidkenu)
We lift before You the people and institutions of our country. We do not claim covenant promises You gave uniquely to Israel, but we appeal to Your mercy, knowing that You are patient and kind.
We pray that Your Church within this nation would walk in repentance, holiness, and courage. Restrain evil by Your common grace. Grant wisdom to leaders. Open hearts to the truth of the Gospel. And in Your time, according to Your will, draw many to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
Raise Up the Next Generation, Everlasting God (El Olam)
Guard the hearts and minds of children, students, and young adults. Root them deeply in truth. Call many to faith in Christ. Raise up witnesses who will joyfully carry the Gospel forward—whatever the cost—until Christ is made known among all peoples.
To You Be Glory
The battle belongs to You, O Lord. Salvation belongs to our God. Any awakening, renewal, or lasting fruit is Your work alone.
So we pray, we repent, we obey, and we bear witness—trusting You to give life where You will, when You will, and how You will.
To You—who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine—to You be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, forever and ever.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
